Grief Group Facilitator Trainings

This one-day experiential and didactic workshop is designed for people interested in facilitating grief support groups or wanting to increase the skills they already have. The seminar addresses questions such as:

  • What is a truly healing group experience?
  • How can my personal loss history be an asset and not get in the way?
  • What do traumatized and grieving people really need?
  • How do I empathize with participants without taking on their pain?
  • What are some respectful ways to handle difficult group dynamics?
  • How do I take care of myself so I don't "burn out"?
  • When am I in over my head and need to refer a participant on?

Dates for 2008 workshops are March 7th, May 9th and September 12th. Trainings take place at the Center for Grief:

  • Workshop hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
