Tom is a marriage and family therapist at the Center with a special focus on trauma. He is also a clinical supervisor, consultant, writer, trainer and critical incident de-briefer. Tom was born and raised in Hastings Minnesota. He is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas, the University of Minnesota and St. Mary's University of Minnesota where he earned a master's degree in Counseling Psychology.

He has also completed a certification & licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy. His greatest passion is spending quality time with his two daughters. He is the third of four boys. Tom's father died in 1986 following ten years of a disability related to a brain tumor.
His life experiences and compassion for others is what brought him to the Center. Tom has been at the Center since 1996. His focus has been in working with families who have experienced a traumatic loss, as well as individual counseling with children, adolescents and adults.
He has been involved in training other professionals, critical incident stress de-briefings, educational presentations, support and counseling groups, and serving as the Director for the Center. Tom is also a Licensed Funeral Director. He is a musician, a gardener, enjoys traveling and being outdoors. Tom has a keen interest in the family dynamic within the counseling setting and society.
It is the core value of family, which continues to inspire and encourage these endeavors, and allows for a strong sense of hopefulness for others through his work. Tom is a member of the Minnesota Association for Marriage & Family Therapy, the Minnesota Coalition for Death Education and Support and recently received the Distinguished Service Award from the MAMFT.
The Center is staffed by experienced pros with specialized education and training in the most current methods.

Sarah provides therapy to individuals, families, groups and children. She has worked in school settings and with young mothers, teenagers and children. (more)
Katie worked with individuals in a college setting for ten years before becoming licensed in Marriage and Family Therapy. She also taught developmental education, career development and study skills courses to young adults at the college level. (more)
